DEER INFORMATION

The HVL POA Parks and Recreation Committee has initiated a Deer Study Volunteer Task Force to study the issues and impact of the deer population in Hidden Valley.  The Task Force is currently researching: 1) what other communities are doing about their deer population, 2) what programs are in existence for management of deer herds, 3) what are the consequences of an over-population of deer and 4) what the actual deer population is in Hidden Valley.

The current plan is to complete the study as soon as possible and to present at least three solutions along with a recommendation to the HVL POA Board of Directors at a future 2009 Board Meeting.  After that presentation is made, it will be incumbent on the Board to determine what action if any shall be taken.

If you would like to ask the Task Force questions, this can be done in two ways.

First, you are welcome to attend the monthly Parks & Recreation Committee meetings to discuss the issues and ask questions.  The Committee meets on the third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Community Center.

Second, you may submit questions directly to the task force through the HVL POA Web site.  To do that you need to take the following steps:

  1. Go to www.hiddenvalley-lake.com
  2. Click “Committees”
  3. Scroll down to Parks & Recreations - Open page and click the button Labeled “Deer Information”
  4. This will take you to the Deer Information Web page.
  5. Click on the email envelope which will take you directly to your email and type in your question in the body of the email and send.

Your original question along with the Task Force’s answer will be posted back on this Web site for future reference.  The name of the person submitting the question will be kept confidential and will not be included in the Task Force’s reply.  Personal opinions submitted to the Task Force through the Web site will not be addressed.

Thank you,

The Deer Study Volunteer Task Force
