As the story goes, sometime in 2004 a few motorcyclists found themselves at a local establishment at the same time. A conversation was started and soon it turned from which manufacturer built the better motorcycle to finding ways to connect with other motorcyclists. An email/phone list was formed that day and it soon grew to a couple of dozen names. Before long the group became large enough to warrant a name, Hidden Valley Motorcycle Club, and a charter was formed in February 2005 making our group an official club.
Our name was later changed to Hidden Valley Riders to better reflect our members' attitudes and our organization's philosophy: "...to promote and advance the sport of motorcycling, to insure by example safety in motorcycling, and to provide fraternal spirit between the Hidden Valley Riders and the community by the development and organization of sponsored rides and charitable events."
We just pack our riding season each year! Our official ride schedule generally runs from late April or early May through late in October; however, there is a good chance you'll find many of us gathering for a ride outside of those dates. We typically have one or two of our signature Destination Rides per month, a couple of which are over-nighters. Our Bike Nights at Willie’s are a great opportunity to meet those from outside of our group, and they happen once a month for the five warmest months of the year. The month of August is a particularly busy month for our members. Many of them take advantage of the last full month of summer and pack their saddlebags for destinations throughout the United States - with some trips years in the making. Finally, our Photo Scavenger Hunt, a season-long event, offers our members a reason to get out and ride every chance they get. While they tour the back roads or highways, they are looking for unique and interesting photo opportunities while competing for prizes and bragging rights.
Interested in joining us? Our members range from the first-time rider to the experienced Iron Butt and everyone in between. If you own a motorcycle and are looking to participate on an occasional weekend ride or have a need for a serious road trip, our group has something to offer you. Or, if you are just thinking of getting started into motorcycle riding and want a bit of advice, just ask! One of our founding members is sure to recall that conversation that started it all and let you know his thoughts on the best bike to buy!
Stop by at one of our monthly meetings (second Thursdays, 7:00PM, Willie's downstairs), visit us at our web at www.hiddenvalleyriders.com or contact any member of our board for more information:
